Central Park Christmas Elopement | NYC Wedding & Portrait Photographer

Christmas in NYC is truly dreamy. Well, you have to fight through a mass of tourists and be willing to be very cold, but once you get through that, it really does have some magic to it.

Leslyn & Caleb decided to travel to New York for a very small Christmas time elopement. As you’ll see below, the weather did NOT cooperate. It was very cold and very rainy. But they stuck with it, and still got to have their Central Park wedding! The Christmas magic was still with us despite the weather and they had the sweetest little umbrella covered ceremony.

Though there were a lot of places that I know Leslyn would have loved to do some pictures of the two of them, one of her dreams was to get a few in the plaza. When we got there, the staff was very adamant that we could NOT come in for pictures…so, I essentially begged and I’m not ashamed to say it. Here I was in the pouring rain with a very very cold bride who wanted some photos with the tree in the Plaza and DAMMIT she was going to get them. Thankfully, after I think just making the guard outside uncomfortable enough, they let us in for a literal 2 minutes for some photos and I’m so thankful they did!

Not too many people will have wedding photos with the tree in the Plaza, so I think these images are super special. The best thing you can do on your wedding day is just roll with what you’re given and make the best of it.
