All-Purpose Pizzeria Capitol Riverfront DC Wedding | Becca & Devon

This is one of those weddings that has become a gold standard for me. Becca & Devon, with their lovely planner Evan from One for the Books Events (also Becca’s dear childhood friend) planned a day that was fully them, dripping with love from all sides, and just so peaceful and easy.

Getting Ready at Hampton Inn & Suites Washington DC Navy Yard

Hampton Inn & Suites Washington DC Navy Yard was the perfect spot for Devon & Becca to get ready for their wedding. It was within walking distance to their venue, as well as all the amazing photo spots along The Wharf. If getting ready photos are important to you (totally ok if they’re not!!) it’s helpful to think of the look and feel of the space before you choose where to get ready. These rooms were great because there was a TON of natural light and space enough for everyone.

First Look and portraits at The Wharf Before Their Wedding

Devon and Becca’s first look was one of the sweetest I’ve witnessed. I don’t really need to say more because I think the photos say it all.

The Wharf in Southwest DC offered us lots of lovely options for photos, despite some pretty intense winds! The fall colors were showing off, and the cloudy skies gave us a touch of extra moodiness. Devon and Becca were happy to wander down the wharf towards their venue and stop for photos along the way. It’s important to note that we built in time for this. We didn’t have to rush because we planned for this time to feel easy and to double as some extra time for the two of them to spend together.

Wedding Ceremony at All Purpose Pizzeria Capitol Riverfront

I remember when I first met with Becca & Devon, they made it very clear that they wanted their wedding day to feel easy going, welcoming, relaxed and fun, and they wanted to ensure that all of their vendors were friendly to and inclusive of the LGBTQ+ Community. All-Purpose Pizzeria Capitol Riverfront was the absolute perfect spot for this day and checked all the boxes. Before the ceremony, the couple and their friends and family gathered for drinks on the rooftop. Their ceremony, officiated by Becca’s brother, took place over looking the water, with the hustle and bustle of DC crossing behind them. I thought it was so lovely how public and visible their ceremony was. A treat for anyone who happened to be passing by at the time. Their ceremony was incredibly touching and one I won’t forget. Just so heartfelt and pure- nothing performative or forced. Just true expressions of love from one family to another.

DC Wedding Reception at All Purpose Pizzeria Capitol Riverfront

10/10 highly recommend All-Purpose Pizzeria for your wedding reception for lots of reasons, but first…the food. It was so good! The atmosphere was exactly what Devon and Becca wanted, and the setting the perfect open air evening in the heart of DC. The reception was full of laughs, happy tears, and SO much dancing. One of my favorite moments from the night is when Becca & Devon’s dads decided to switch girls during their joint father daughter dances because “they are both our daughters now” I melted into a giant photographer shaped puddle.

Becca & Devon, what a gift it is to be in your orbit and to share these incredible memories with you. Let’s do it again for your next big milestone, ok!?

From the couple:

“We are so grateful to have had Alyssa as our wedding photographer! Her energy and approach were so calming and reassuring on our big day, and the photos she captured embody the joy and love of the wedding and all of our people. We love Alyssa’s rich yet realistic colors. And even though neither my partner nor I identify as photogenic she got so many wonderful shots and candid moments of us and our loved ones that we’ll treasure forever. Alyssa is a lovely human and talented photographer! Also LGBTQ friendly 💗 Thank you Alyssa!”
