New Jersey Microwedding/Elopement | NYC Wedding Photographer

Okay, let’s talk about backyard microweddings/elopements/small intimate weddings/whatever you want to call them! I have ALWAYS loved them, but now I have such a newfound appreciation for them, because they are the most safe way to get married right now!

They’re basically little magic fests. You’re surrounded by literally just your nearest and dearest. You’re not at the mercy of someone else’s space or timeline. They’re SO much more relaxed, and give SO much more freedom to just focus on each other and they joy and love.

Jess & Greg had the perfectttt backyard microwedding. They chose a few months ago to postpone their June wedding to next year, but decided to get married on their original date at the house Jess grew up in with just their families and their pups. And y’all…it was THE BEST.

First, everyone felt as comfortable as one can during a pandemic. This was such a relief to me.

In feeling less pressure to accommodate lots of guests, Jess was able to plan a fun, lowkey day. She wore a perfect white jumpsuit, and had amazing colorful wildflower-esque flowers in her hair, her bouquet, and on their ceremony arch.

Jess got a “just married” bathing suit, and our time ended with them in the pool, because why the heck not?? Another pro of a backyard wedding. Suffice it to say, there was just so. much. love. and so much fun. Ugh, I just can’t say enough good things, so I’ll just let you look.

xoxo
